A screw conveyor is a mechanical device that uses rotating screw blades to push and convey materials along a fixed casing. Working principle
The working principle of a screw conveyor is that the drive device rotates the screw shaft, causing the screw blades fixed on the shaft to form a continuous helical surface. When the helical blades rotate, the material is subjected to the thrust and friction of the blades as well as the blocking effect of the casing:
When conveying horizontally, the material slides forward along the bottom of the casing under the thrust of the blades, as if being "pushed forward by a spiral".
When conveying at an incline or vertically, the material, in addition to being subjected to thrust, also needs to overcome the influence of gravity. It adheres to the blades by the centrifugal force and friction generated from the rotation of the blades and moves upward along a spiral trajectory.
Throughout the entire process, the material is continuously pushed within the closed casing, achieving the transportation from the feeding port to the discharging port. The principle is similar to "a screw pushing an object", converting the spatial movement of the spiral structure into the linear displacement of the material.
